Khalessi is one of those German Shepherds with a personality you simply cannot ignore. Around our house, we lovingly call her our little devil — she is full of character, energy, curiosity and always seems to find a way to keep us entertained.

But underneath that mischievous personality is an incredibly affectionate and gentle dog.

One of the things that has always impressed us about Khalessi is the softness she can show toward other animals. When she encountered a cat for the very first time, she was curious, affectionate and remarkably gentle.

What makes this even more special is seeing the same quality appear in her offspring. One of Khalessi’s sons gave us a beautiful example of this when he encountered a tiny baby bird. Despite being a large and powerful German Shepherd, he approached it with incredible gentleness and care.

Khalessi comes from an outstanding pedigree. Her sire is VA Knut von der Wilden Dreizehn, IGP3, KKL, and her mother is our beautiful V Ocean von der Zenteiche, IGP2, KKL. We can see so much of Ocean’s wonderful character and quality reflected in Khalessi, and it is especially rewarding to now see those same qualities continuing into the next generation through Khalessi’s puppies.

Khalessi has also proven herself in both the show ring and working field, earning her V rating, WB, AD, BH-VT and IGP1. She has received multiple excellent show placements, including SG1, and has consistently made us proud with her beautiful breed type and character.

Titles, pedigrees and beautiful structure are important, but character is something you live with every single day. Seeing Khalessi’s affectionate nature and gentle instincts reflected in her puppies is exactly the type of temperament we hope to preserve through our breeding program.

Khalessi may be a little devil in our house, but she has an incredibly sweet heart — and that wonderful combination of personality, affection and gentleness is what makes her so special to us.
