Mailo is much more than a breeding male to us — he is truly one of a kind.

Mailo was born here at Haus Neufus, and from his litter we chose to keep both Mailo and his sister Mala for our breeding program. Watching him grow from one of our own puppies into the male he is today makes everything he has accomplished even more meaningful to us.

This is the dog who can make me laugh even on a day when I feel like crying. He has an incredible personality, a wonderful sense of character and a way of bringing happiness into everyday life. There is simply something special about Mailo that is difficult to put into words unless you know him.

At home, Mailo is affectionate, entertaining and deeply devoted to his family. At the same time, he is a natural protector — confident, watchful and instinctively aware of what is happening around him. He represents so much of what we believe a German Shepherd should be: loving with his family, clear-headed in everyday life and naturally protective when needed.

Mailo also loves to work. Schutzhund training is something he genuinely enjoys, and his enthusiasm for the work shows his intelligence, drive and willingness to engage with his handler. He has earned his BH, AD, IGP1 and KKL, proving that there is true working ability behind his beautiful appearance.

In the show ring, Mailo has made us equally proud. Over the years he has earned numerous VP, SG and V ratings, culminating in an outstanding V1 at the 2023 USCA GSD National Championship/Universal Sieger.

Mailo’s pedigree is especially meaningful to our breeding program. He is a son of the outstanding VA Gavin vom Hasenborn, IPO3, KKL, and Tina vom Hauswalder Bach. The strength of this pedigree can be seen in Mailo’s masculine type, powerful head, rich pigmentation, strong structure, movement and character.

His breed survey describes a large, very well-pigmented male with a very strong head, dark eyes, high withers, powerful movement and pronounced working character.

What makes us even more proud is that we can already see Mailo’s traits coming through in his puppies. His personality, confidence, beautiful breed type, strong heads and natural character are qualities we are beginning to recognize in the next generation. Seeing those qualities continue through his offspring is one of the most rewarding parts of our breeding program.
